Am I the idiot regarding the "whale short", or is everyone else?

I see this everywhere making headlines and being talked about around Reddit. "Big whale" making a now $520m short bet.

Is this not a $13m bet leveraged up to $520m? I mean, $13m is a pretty large bet, but I don't see why this is such huge news. It's not uncommon to see this size liquidation on the books.
