Best non-hardware wallets?

So recently I discovered that I can't use a hardware wallet here in China. Crypto is illegal here so it's blocked by China, and Trezor Suite software apparently doesn't allow VPN usage. I've been experimenting with different hot wallets, but I'd like to find one that is safe. What are the safest non-hardware wallets to use? What are your thoughts on Bluewallet?
