Best way to buy BTC in Canada

I know this question has been asked over and over again but I’m looking for some help. I’ve done a bit of research and still can’t come to a conclusion on where to buy and hold my BTC.

I’m currently buying on Wealthsimple because it’s convenient but not loving the 2% fees. I’d also like to have real ownership of my BTC. What is the cheapest/safest way to stack and hold my sats? Any help is appreciated
