Bitcoins Purpose?

All of bitcoin's uses have been debunked at this point. It does not hedge against the dollar. It is not digital gold. It is pretty much useless as a currency since the network is slow. The only uses I see are being a ponzi scheme for scammers to try and get rich quick or helping criminals launder their money. Please enlighten me with any other uses.
