Can someone here help me in understanding some things in Fulcrum (Electrum Server)?

I set up Fulcrum and turned fast-sync on, but the text file (.conf) says that there are risks associated with turning this on, although it would accelerate initial sync. It says that the process should not be abruptly closed if this is on, otherwise the database might be corrupted, which happened with me recently and I had to resync from scratch.

It also says that fast-sync has no effect once the initial sync is complete. So, does that mean if I also turn it to 0 (turn it off) after initial sync, would the database not get corrupt again if a power outage happens?
