Found my 2013 Bitcointalk thread – Celebrating the early days of Bitcoin mining in China
| | I was scrolling through some old archives and stumbled upon a piece of my personal Bitcoin history. Back in July 2013, I launched one of the early Chinese mining community hubs called "Cybtc" (彩云比特). It was an incredible era to be part of the space—we were transitioning from GPU mining to the first generation of ASICs like Avalon and FriedCat (烤猫). In the thread, you can see legendary Bitcointalk moderators like John K. joining the discussion and early mining projects like ASICME checking in. Looking back from 2026, it’s wild to see how much the ecosystem has matured. Back then, it was just a small group of enthusiasts exchanging "friendship links" and helping each other set up hardware in our living rooms. Anyone else here from the 2013 mining era? What was your first ASIC? [link] [comments] |
