8 months into daily BTC DCA from Indonesia - here's what rupiah inflation taught me about "HODL vs timing"

Started a daily DCA journal on Nov 1, 2025. Not because I think I can time the market better than anyone else, but because I live somewhere the "just save cash" advice doesn't really hold up.

The amount is small on purpose — roughly what I'd spend on coffee each day, redirected instead. Not trying to go all-in, just building the habit of treating BTC like a savings account rather than a trade.

Quick data point that got me here: a Toyota Avanza (basically Indonesia's Corolla-equivalent, most common family car) has roughly doubled in rupiah price over the last decade. Official BPS inflation numbers don't come close to capturing that kind of real-world price creep on durable goods.

So this isn't really a "get rich" bet for me — it's closer to a savings account that doesn't quietly lose 20-30% purchasing power over a few years. Consistency over conviction on any single entry price.

Curious how this compares for people DCAing from other high-inflation currencies (Argentina, Nigeria, Turkey folks — how's your framing on this?).
