Looking into Peach Bitcoin but they just announced going "ESCROW-FREE" tomorrow. What does this mean for a total beginner?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been eyeing Peach Bitcoin to buy non-KYC, but I haven't made my first trade yet. They just announced a massive change starting tomorrow (September 1st):

"Big change as of September 1st. Peach is operating ESCROW-FREE! only very high reputation sellers and KYC sellers will be allowed to create sell offers."

As a total beginner, this makes me a bit nervous. If there is no escrow holding the BTC during the trade, what actually protects me from getting scammed?

Is it still a good/safe app for a beginner's first trade, or should I look elsewhere now?

Thanks!
