Putting politics on the blockchain

I'm going to preface with this: I don't know anything when it comes to politics or blockchain.... But I thought what if all the decisions/purchases and so on had to go through a peer to peer system? That way gov spending can be better tracked and more people would have to agree on it. It would prevent back door dealings and what not
