Question about LN that r/bitcoin mods won't approve

This post was originally for r/bitcoin however it's been almost 24 hours and the moderators have yet to review the post... so I figured I'd ask here. I try to get varied opinions from both sides. I know the sentiment around Roger Ver and BCH in that sub, but want to hear arguments for and against certain topics.

I have genuine good faith question that I haven't really been able to sufficiently find an answer for online. I've heard Roger bring up the fact in this video (starting at 3:10) that it will take 47.6 years to get everyone in the world onto a lightning network channel. Is this somehow misleading? And that would be if each person just opened up ONE channel. Am I fundamentally misunderstanding how the LN works? Do you need to open up a separate channel for each party that you want to transact with? In other words, I would need a separate channel for Starbucks, McDonalds, Target, etc? I don't understand how that would possibly be feasible. Someone explain to me why I'm wrong!
