Running a node 1st timer

Hi. I'm seriously contemplating running my own node and after reading a lot on here and watching tutorials, I'm between Umbrel vs Start9. Initially thought of building my own with raspberry pi and stuff but lately getting discouraged after reading issues happening (especially with Umbrel apparently).

I just SIMPLY want privacy + verifying my own transactions (buying and transferring to air gapped wallet). Not looking to run lightning nodes (don't fully understand them), or make profit, or anything complicated.

What would you guys recommend based on what I need?
