Serious: how to get into wallet without knowing password?

Hi guys,

Friend of mine has found his wallet files from like 2010. He does not know the password for them, but he says there must be a couple hundred BTC on them from mining.

Is there any chance of retrieving them? What should we look into?

They should be worth several million $ so even if there’s a costly way please don’t be shy of suggesting it.
