Transacting with BTC

I’m curious if anyone out there regularly makes transactions with Bitcoin, and if so, what do you buy with it and what applications do you use to transact with it?

I live in Canada, so it’s hard to appreciate the full value of bitcoin since our currency is stable and banking is easy, but I know many people in countries where that’s not the case use Bitcoin as there standard currency. I want that to start happening in Canada and the US, but it’s just not catching on because most people have no reason to start using it instead of the FIAT currency.
